MEETING POINT:

The meeting point for this 4WD course is at 99 Knutsford Avenue. Please park your vehicles at this location for the day. Read below for more information:

A. Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to operate and maintain a 4WD vehicle on and off road and will be able to:

  • Identify 4WD and defensive driving specific terms, terminology and techniques

  • Identify and demonstrate the use of front wheel hubs

  • Plan for minimal environmental impact

  • Perform pre-departure checks

  • Engage 4WD mode

  • Use appropriate range, gear, speed, driving and braking technique, negotiate a range of terrain types whilst maintaining control of the vehicle, on and off road

  • Perform recovery of a 4WD vehicle

  • Identify, address and report potential hazards and risks

  • Conduct inspection and perform maintenance and minor repairs

  • Perform wheel change

B. Students will attain the practical application in how to operate a light vehicle and understanding of defensive driving techniques and will be able to:

  • Plan and prepare for vehicle operations

  • Understand defensive driving techniques

  • Identify, address and report potential hazards and risks

  • Select and wear appropriate PPE

  • Carry out pre-start, start-up, park-up and shutdown procedures

  • Operate the vehicle and associated equipment

  • Conduct inspection and perform maintenance

  • Perform wheel change

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

Entry Requirements

To take part in our 4WD +Light Vehicle combo training (RIIVEH305F, TLIC0023) + (RIIVEH201E) you’ll need to:

  • Hold a current Australian driver’s licence (C Class or higher) – either provisional (P) or full.

  • Make sure your licence is valid for the state or territory where the course is delivered.

  • Bring your licence with you on the first day of training.

Please note:

  • International or overseas licences are not accepted.

  • A learner’s permit isn’t enough – you must already have your P-plates or a full licence.

This is to make sure you’re legally allowed to drive during training, and to keep everyone safe on and off the road.

  1. Must be 18 years old and above

  2. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.

    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.

  3. Wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

  4. Ability to read, write and understand English

DELIVERY LOCATION

Here’s detailed information for how and where the 4WD Course Perth WA is delivered:

  1. Morning Meet-Up: Please arrive and meet at 7:30 AM sharp at 99 Knutsford Avenue. You are also advised to park your vehicles at this location for the day.

  2. Practical Session: Following our meet-up, you will proceed to participate in the practical aspect of your 4×4 Training.

  3. Theory Session: Once the practical session concludes, we will return to 99 Knutsford Avenue for you to collect your personal vehicles. The next phase of your training will take place at 17 Old Great Northern Highway, Midland, focusing on 4WD theory.

    • Transportation Options:

      • For students with personal vehicles, please drive to the Midland location.

      • Students without personal vehicles have the following options:

        • Utilise public transportation.

        • Arrange to carpool with a fellow student.

        • Join a trainer’s vehicle for transportation.
