Overview

This Conduct Articulated Haul Truck Operations training course in Perth is aimed at those currently working or seeking work in operational roles in the mining and construction industries and will be required to operate an articulated haul truck.

Applicants are required to hold a valid Class C licence as a minimum. If you’ve just arrived in Australia, you can join the course with your international C-Class licence, as it’s valid for up to three months. After that, you’ll need a WA driver’s licence or an International Driver’s Licence Permit (IDP) to participate.

Students will attain the theoretical knowledge and the practical application to operate articulated haul truck properly and will be able to:

  1. Plan for Articulated Haul Operations: Access and apply truck documentation, clarify work requirements, identify hazards, select PPE, interpret geological data, and coordinate on-site.

  2. Operate Articulated Haul Truck: Conduct prestart checks, rectify/report faults, drive and operate truck as per site conditions, monitor equipment performance and safety.

  3. Load, Haul, and Dump Materials: Position truck for loading, execute haulage and dumping operations, and perform post-operation inspection.

  4. Housekeeping: Clear work area, manage hazards, and complete necessary documentation.

Saferight Earthmoving courses use hands-on training in real-world settings, WITHOUT the use of simulators.

Entry Requirements

To enter the Dump Truck Training Perth WA / Dump Truck Ticket Perth course, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be 18 years old and above

  2. Applicants are required to hold a valid Class C licence as a minimum. If you’ve just arrived in Australia, you can join the course with your international C-Class licence, as it’s valid for up to three months. After that, you’ll need a WA driver’s licence or an International Driver’s Licence Permit (IDP) to participate.

    1. Please note that you will need an HR (Heavy Rigid) Vehicle Licence in order to drive a Dump Truck in the metro area. Please go to the Department of Transport website to apply for this licence as it is not included in the training provided.

  3. Present photo I.D. on arrival

  4. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.

    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.

  5. Wear steel cap boots, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt

  6. Bring along a hi-vis vest

  7. Ability to read, write and understand English

Individuals holding a student visa are not eligible to enrol in, participate in, or attend this course, whether face-to-face or online, as Saferight is not registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). Student visa holders are encouraged to seek training with a CRICOS-registered institution to meet their requirements.

Please come to 42 Belmont Avenue to collect your Statement of Attainment certificate after you've completed your training. The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance. 

Obtaining this ticket does not authorise you to operate this machine on public roads unless you hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence. You are only permitted to drive the machine within your worksite. If you need to obtain an HR licence, visit: Department of Transport WA – Heavy Rigid Licence.
