Overview

This Basic Fire Training Perth WA, also know as ‘Demonstrate Fist Attack Fire Fighting Equipment course’ is for those who may be required to use portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets.

Students will attain the practical application and understanding required to operate first attack fire fighting equipment in emergency situations and will be able to:

Use of Portable Fire Extinguisher

  • Explain various extinguisher types

  • Identify fire classifications

  • Select the appropriate extinguisher

  • Demonstrate the safe and correct use of extinguishers

Use of Fire Hose Reel

  • Explain the purpose of fire hose reels

  • Unroll and operate the hose reel correctly

  • Direct the water stream effectively

  • Turn off the hose reel and check for leaks

  • Rewind the hose post-use

Use of Fire Blanket

  • Explain the purpose of fire blankets

  • Demonstrate the safe and effective use of fire blankets

Entry Requirements

To enrol in the Basic Fire Training Perth course, participants must:

  1. Must be 18 years old and above

  2. Present photo I.D. on arrival

  3. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.

    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.

  4. Bring along your own PPE: Gloves, high vis vests, you must wear enclosed shoes and remove all jewellery prior to course commencement. 

  5. Ability to read, write and understand English

If your LLN skills are assessed as needing improvement to meet the course requirements, we may recommend additional support or training to help you succeed. If you have any concerns about your LLN skills, we encourage you to contact us before enrolling.

Individuals holding a student visa are not eligible to enrol in, participate in, or attend this course, whether face-to-face or online, as Saferight is not registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). Assessment

The Basic Fire Training Perth course includes both theoretical and practical assessments to ensure participants are proficient in using First Attack Firefighting Equipment, including:

  • Theory Assessment

  • Practical Assessment

Certification

Upon successful completion of the Basic Fire Training Perth WA course / Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment course, participants will receive a:

Your certificate does not have an expiry date, however, industry standards recommend retraining every two years.

The Unique Student Identifier (USI) must be supplied and verified prior to issuance. 

Duration

This Basic Fire Training Perth course is a half-day training program, typically lasting 3.5 hours. This intensive session is designed to provide participants with comprehensive hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge needed to effectively use First Attack Firefighting Equipment.
