RIIWHS202E Enter & Work in a confines space is a nationally accredited course that provides workers with the skills and knowledge to safely enter, work in and exit a confined space. A confined space is defined as an enclosed or partially enclosed area that is not primarily designed or intended for human occupancy, and where there is a risk of injury or harm due to hazardous substances, lack of oxygen, or other dangerous conditions.

Workers who successfully complete RIIWHS202E will have the skills and knowledge to apply safe work practices when entering and working in confined spaces. It is usually a requirement for workers who are involved in maintenance, construction, and cleaning operations in a variety of industries, including mining, construction, and manufacturing.

The main objective of the MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres unit is to impart knowledge on gas testing methodologies and techniques to ensure that any space being entered is safe and free from toxic gases. The unit of competency covers topics such as atmospheric testing equipment and its operation, assessing atmospheric conditions, interpreting test results and ensuring safety in various scenarios. The unit also covers the legal and regulatory requirements for testing and measuring atmospheric conditions in confined spaces.

After completing this unit of competency, learners will have the skills and knowledge required to carry out gas testing and ensure that confined spaces are safe for entry. The MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres unit is essential for people working in mining and exploration, construction and other industries that involve working in confined spaces where the risk of exposure to toxic gases is high.
