Overview

This CPCCLHS3001 Licence to Operate Personnel and Materials Hoist course, aligning with National High Risk Work Standards, trains participants in operating builders’ hoists, including cantilever, tower, and multiple winch types, for personnel, goods, and material transportation.

Students will attain the theoretical knowledge and the practical application to:

Plan Task

  • Review instructions

  • Consult for clarity

  • Comply with safety norms

  • Assess hazards

  • Calculate load weight

  • Establish communication

  • Review emergency procedures.

Select and Prepare Equipment:

  • Implement safety measures

  • Access and check hoist

  • Conduct pre-start and operational checks

  • Ensure functionality

  • Test run hoist.

Conduct Hoist Operations

  • Maintain communication

  • Operate as per guidelines

  • Use communication signals

  • Conduct emergency lowering.

Shut Down and Secure Hoist

  • Follow shutdown procedures

  • Check, isolate, and secure hoist

  • Report any damages or defects.

Entry Requirements

  1. Must be 18 years old and above

  2. Present photo I.D. on arrival

  3. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.

    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.

  4. Hi-vis shirt or vest must be worn while attending your course – failure to comply may prevent you from participating. Steel cap boots are required, and all jewellery must be removed before the course begins.

  5. Ability to read, write and understand English
