Overview

The Rigging Intermediate & Advanced Level training course, aligned with the National Standard for High-Risk Work Licensing, equips participants with skills for intermediate and advanced rigging, including cranes, conveyors, dredges, excavators, tilt slabs, demolition, and dual lifts.

Before attending this course, participants must hold a valid/current Statement of Attainment for Licence to Perform Rigging Basic Level, Licence to Perform Dogging, and a valid High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for Rigging Basic and Dogging. If you don’t have this pre-requisite qualification, you are not allowed to join the course and Saferight has all rights to cancel your enrolment.

This Rigging Intermediate & Advanced course specifies the outcomes required to:

  1. Plan Task: Review instructions, consult, interpret information for safe work compliance, identify hazards, determine safety measures, and establish communication.

  2. Select and Inspect Equipment: Choose and check safety equipment, PPE, and rigging gear, ensuring functionality and safety.

  3. Set Up Task: Communicate plans, implement safety measures, and assess suitability of ground and structure for the task.

  4. Undertake Basic Rigging: Erect and dismantle structures, steel, pre-cast concrete, safety nets, hoists, and loading platforms, adhering to safety standards.

  5. Undertake Advanced Rigging: Erect, operate, and dismantle structures; manage specialised equipment such as gin poles, cable ways, guyed derricks, and suspended scaffolds; conduct load movement operations.

  6. Complete Task: Clear area, inspect and store gear, dismantle safety measures, complete documentation.

This course consists of two essential components: Theoretical and Practical.

You will be enrolled into the following unit of competency:

Entry Requirements

Before attending this course, participants must hold a valid/current Statement of Attainment for Licence to Perform Rigging Basic Level, Licence to Perform Dogging, and a valid High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for Rigging Basic and Dogging. If you don’t have this pre-requisite qualification, you are not allowed to join the course and Saferight has the right to cancel your enrolment.

  1. Must be 18 years old and above

  2. Present a valid photo I.D. on arrival

  3. If you have any physical conditions that may affect your ability to complete a course, please visit a doctor and obtain a “Fit for Work” certificate, and send it to our bookings email.

    1. Please note, Saferight reserves the right to cancel your enrolment if this documentation is not provided and you are deemed unfit for training. Additionally, cancellation fees will apply if adequate notice is not given.

  4. Wear steel cap shoes/boots and remove all jewellery prior to commencement

  5. Ability to read, write and understand English

Individuals holding a student visa are not eligible to enrol in, participate in, or attend this course, whether face-to-face or online, as Saferight is not registered with CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). Student visa holders are encouraged to seek training with a CRICOS-registered institution to meet their requirements.

HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE

Disclaimer: Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant/conduct this skill.

A High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) is a photographic licence, issued to people who have been trained and assessed as competent to work in a class of work defined as high-risk work.

Here’s What You Need to Know:

  • Licence Applications:

    • Saferight does not handle HRWL applications for individual bookings and group bookings via credit card payment. During your training, we will only equip you with all the essential information and paperwork needed to apply for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) directly with WorkSafe WA.

  • Passport Photo Service:

    • Saferight provides a passport photo service for a fee of $20 (not included in the course fee). This service produces a set of 6 passport photos required for your HRWL application, available during your training period.
