Overview
The MSMWHS216 – Operate Breathing Apparatus Training Perth course is designed to ensure the health and safety of personnel working in irrespirable atmospheres. This Breathing Apparatus Course covers the operation and maintenance of open-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), following AS/NZS 1715:2009 and 1716:2012 standards.
Participants will learn to:
Pre-Donning Checks
Inspect breathing apparatus for use
Report any faulty or damaged equipment
Operate Breathing Apparatus
Monitor and control hazards
Maintain communication
Use apparatus as required
Manage working time
Follow entrapment procedures
Ensure personal safety
Conclude Operations
Shut down and remove apparatus
Clean and maintain it
Prepare equipment for next use
This Undertake First Response to Fire Incidents unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to undertake an appropriate first response to fire incidents in onshore and offshore situations/emergencies.
People working, operating or who regularly travel to an onshore or offshore hydrocarbon/petrochemical installation or facility or major hazard facility may require this competency.
This unit could be applied to any of the following installations or facilities:
factories and production plants
onshore/offshore rig/installation
island based facility
floating production vessel or platform
onshore production, processing pipeline systems and/or storage facilities
pipeline easements
maintenance bases.

Must be 18 years old and above
Present photo I.D. on arrival

Bring along your own PPE: Gloves, high vis vests, you must wear enclosed shoes and remove all jewellery prior to course commencement.
