Overview

This VOC C2 Slewing Mobile Crane assessment confirms that an individual has maintained the skills and knowledge attained as per TLILIC0010 – Licence to Operate a Slewing Mobile Crane (up to 20 tonnes).

Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments are used to confirm that individuals have the skills to operate equipment competently, safely, and are aware of current workplace procedures for the class of licence they hold.

This assessment applies to individuals operating C2 Slewing Mobile Cranes within mining, construction, and high-risk industries. It verifies competency across key operational tasks, including:

  • Planning Work/Task: Identifying lift requirements, confirming lift plans, assessing the work site and crane capacity, applying hazard controls, and establishing communication protocols.

  • Preparing for Work/Task: Conducting risk assessments, inspecting and preparing the crane, setting up counterweights and crane configuration, and ensuring load and environmental compliance.

  • Performing Work/Task: Executing lifts within crane specifications, performing test lifts, monitoring crane movements, using appropriate communication signals, and landing loads safely.

  • Packing Up: Stowing gear, securing the crane, shutting down systems safely, and performing post-operation checks.

Participants must already hold a unit of competency for TLILIC0010 – Licence to Operate a Slewing Mobile Crane (up to 20 tonnes) before undertaking this VOC.

This VOC ensures operators remain compliant and site-ready under current safety and licensing standards.
