Certification

All participants that successfully complete the course will be issued with a statement of attainment for CPPFES2005 Demonstrate first attack fire fighting equipment. This is a nationally recognised course.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must have good verbal and written comprehension of the English language;

  • Must have good general health and fitness for practicals (ability to hold and use fire equipment, eg. hose reel, extinguisher etc.);

  • Must wear long sleeved shirt, long leg pants and steel cap boots;

  • Must hold a USI (unique student identifier) number.

  • Properties of extinguishants

  • Extinguishant / fire compatibility

  • Proper use of extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels

  • The importance of good decison-making skills

  • Types and operation of fire protection equipment classified as first attack equipment
