1 day course for Enter and Work In Confined Spaces - RIIWHS202E

DURATION: 12.30pm-3.30pm

This course is held at our state of the art training center at 42 Industry Street Malaga.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Photo ID and a USI number.

Outline

The Enter & Work In Confined Spaces course will cover the following elements:

  • An understanding of confined space hazard identification, safe work procedures and confined space entry/exit procedures

  • Selection and use of confined space equipment

  • Gas detection utilising both diffusion and/or pumped units

  • Facilitating emergency procedures.

This course is also appropriate for those performing entry or standby person roles.

Our Confined Space courses are designed to assist students in understanding the characteristics, hazards and legislative requirements needed to operate safely in a confined space.
Participants are introduced to important legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards relating to confined spaces. An understanding of confined space hazard identification, safe work procedures, confined space entry/exit procedures is covered. Further training in breathing apparatus, gas detection, rescue, emergency procedures and fire fighting can be included depending on your companies requirements.

This training is appropriate for those working in confined space (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work and is also appropriate for those performing entry or standby person roles, typically at worksites within:

• Civil construction
• Coal mining
• Drilling
• Extractive industries
• Metalliferous mining

The training course gives the participants the skills and knowledge to be able to correctly;

• Identify the need for atmospheric monitoring
• Conduct risk control measures
• Identify the sampling equipment required
• Setup and use atmospheric monitoring equipment

Participants will learn the effects that common gases found throughout the workplace can have on the body if encountered. Participants will also learn how to safeguard themselves and other employees should they be in an environment where atmospheric hazards exist.
